Abayena is a Chartered Accountant and a financial management practitioner with 14 years experience covering a wide range of industries including trading, commodities, financial services and consulting. He is currently a financial consultant with ABI & Partners with responsibility for modelling and review of business and financial plans, accounting and due diligence for SMEs, strategy, performance monitoring and improvement, financial analysis and financial statements.
He has been a Performance Analyst with Barclays Ghana Limited for 4 years, and Finance and Accounts Manager with Armajaro Ghana Limited for  7 years. Prior to this, he was the General Manager for  Yaw Asamoah & Sons Limited.
